About the Book
Traya is a body, mind, spirit practice that works directly with the subtle body chakras to heal the mind of all types of negativity.
In her book: Chakra Wisdom: Healing Negative Thoughts, Feelings and Beliefs with Meditation, Yoga and the Traya Process, Trish O’Sullivan provides simple yet profound techniques you can practice on your own.
How Did Traya Come To Be ?
Traya was developed over a 25 year period by Trish O’Sullivan a psychotherapist, senior zen dharma teacher and certified yoga teacher. She first learned how to access material stored in the chakras in the 1980s. She modified the techniques and incorporated them into her daily meditation practice. She noticed that her mind began to change-- inhibitions and fears disappeared and her thinking became more positive with fewer negative thoughts echoing in her mind. Excited about this process, she began to work with others and saw similar results.
She went back to school and became a licensed psychotherapist continuing with Traya as the focus.
In this deep exploration of the chakra system with both herself and others new discoveries were made including the subfunctions or attributes of all of the primary chakras and a new system of secondary chakras was discovered. This secondary system too has important functions and impact the mind in significant ways. Trish wrote Chakra Wisdom: Healing Negative Thoughts, Feelings and Beliefs with Meditation, Yoga and the Traya Process to bring Traya to the wider world.
She now intends to focus on training others in self-Traya or incorporating the Traya techniques into their professional work with others. She is authorized to provide Continuing Education credits to Yoga Therapists and is in the processing of becoming a CE provider for clinical social workers.
